Independence first

We are not an estate agency and we earn nothing from the sale of any property. Our market views, area guides and process explanations are written without regard to who advertises with us or which partner links appear on a page. How we research

We draw on public market data, official French sources on tax and property law, the published terms of lenders and currency providers, and on-the-ground knowledge of the Riviera. Where a figure depends on your personal situation, we say so rather than pretending there is one simple answer.

Accuracy and updates

Property, tax and immigration rules change. We date each article with the month it was last updated, and we revise guides when the facts move. Even so, our content is general information, not personal legal, tax or financial advice. Before you commit, take advice from a notaire, a lawyer or a tax adviser who knows your full circumstances.

Plain, honest writing

We write in plain British English, for adults making a serious decision. No hype, no brochure language, no pressure. If a place or a product has a downside, we tell you.
